ESRI ArcGIS 9.2 software offers a host of new tools and functionality
including mapping interface improvements, the file-based geodatabase and
new presentation capabilities. This course empowers participants in becoming
a successful ArcGIS User. Participants learn fundamental GIS concepts and
become familiar with the wide range of functionality available in ArcGIS 9.2.
In course exercises, participants work with ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox, and
ArcMap applications and learn how these applications work together to
provide a complete GIS software solution. All course exercises are based
on local and regional issues for Florida, using data participants might use
on the job on any given day. All participants receive an exercise book and data
cd inclusive of the price of the course.
Goals
Understand basic GIS concepts and how they are integrated with the ESRI solution
Understand the ESRI ArcGIS infrastructure (Licensing, Software, Data)
Work with the ESRI Data Structures and other GIS related data structures
Manage and organize geospatial data
Display geographic data
Conduct GIS projects
Query geographic data
Work with geoprocessing tools
Integrate tables using joins and relates
Geocode data
Create maps, reports, and graphs.
Export data and maps for use with PDF and Google Earth
