Photo Science Awarded Geospatial Services Contract by Southwest Florida Water Management District

Photo Science, Inc. has entered into a contract with the Southwest Florida Water Management District (District) to provide Geospatial Data Collection and Analysis Services on an on-call basis over a three year period. Under the terms and conditions of this Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity agreement, Photo Science will provide a host of geospatial mapping, data management and analysis services to assist the District in accomplishing its mission of preserving and protecting Florida’s resources.

Central to the District’s mission is maintaining the balance between the current and future water needs while protecting and maintaining the natural systems which provide existing and future water supply. “Geospatial technology provides us valuable tools needed to help us accomplish our mission,” says District Project Manager, Dr. Steve Dicks. “This contract will serve us as a vehicle to effectively and efficiently deploy geospatial technology.”

Specific geospatial services to be provided will include aerial imagery collection and analysis, aerial topographic and bathymetric mapping, LiDAR acquisition and processing, land cover analysis, planimetric mapping, and geospatial application and database development. “We understand the challenges the District faces when managing sustainable development. We are dedicated to supporting the District’s efforts to accomplish its mission and welcome the opportunity to support geospatial initiatives at the District over the next several years,” comments G. Michael Ritchie, President of Photo Science.

This project will be managed from Photo Science’s full service geospatial operation in St. Petersburg, Florida. Photo Science Project Manager, Gary Florence adds, “We have assembled a dynamic team of geospatial service providers for this contract. Our team members include Digital Aerial Solutions, LLC, Pickett and Associates, Inc., Fugro Pelagos, Inc., Woolpert, Inc., BPC Group, Inc., Panda Consulting, and American Surveying and Mapping, Inc.”
