Ecology and Environment, Inc. (E & E) has upgraded the use of their GreenRide online ride-matching program to allow University Of Florida (UF) students to use the service. The program was initially only available to UF's faculty and staff.
Students can specify their starting point and final destination then an integrated map shows other users that match the same basic route within a half-mile radius of the starting point. No personal information, other than the GreenRide user's first name, is revealed in the process.
If the program proves successful, it could assist in energy consumption as well as alleviate on-campus parking issues.
Ecology and Environment, Inc. has also recently received several key contracts to develop customized versions of GreenRide for a variety of government entities and companies across the nation.
