Florida Department of Revenue Offers GIS & Cadastral Mapping Workshops

The Florida Department of Revenue is offering a GIS 101 Workshop in the coming months. The workshop is geared towards employees whom work within Property Appraiser's Offices or Tax Collector's Offices, however seats may open to the public pending availability.

The two upcoming courses listed thus far are scheduled for:

April 1st - April 3rd, 2008 in Yulee, FL (Nassau County)

May 20th - May 22nd, 2008 in Ft. Pierce, FL (St. Lucie County)

The cost of each workshop is $180. Per the workshop description:

"GIS 101: This three-day workshop has been designed and presented by DOR GIS staff to reinforce much of the material introduced in other GIS courses such as Introduction to ArcGIS I. The instruction is progressive, hands-on, delivered in the ArcMap 9.x environment and, is presented in the context of cadastral mapping. Geodatabase structure and creation as well as map editing and maintenance routines will be explored in class exercises. This workshop is intended for those who are familiar with ArcMap, but need to enhance their editing skills to be productive in a parcel mapping environment. Each student will receive a 512mb thumb drive containing class data and help topics."
