Avineon Awarded Contract with the EPA for Science-Oriented IT and GIS Services

Avineon, Inc., a successful provider of IT, geospatial, engineering and program management services, announced that it has been awarded the Software Engineering Specialized Scientific Support (SES3) blanket purchase agreement (BPA) with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Office of Research and Development (ORD). Avineon was the only small business selected for the project, which has an initial one-year period and six one-year renewal options.

Avineon will support an applied software engineering program that is responsive to current and future EPA ORD strategies and business needs as well as those of partner communities. Under the BPA, Avineon will assist the ORD in developing and maintaining enterprise-wide, science-oriented, information management (IM), IT and geographic information systems (GIS) programs for its offices, laboratories and research centers.

“Our team’s in-depth knowledge of the EPA’s technical environment, culture and business drivers uniquely positions Avineon to help the EPA meet its IT and GIS goals,” said Hee Sun Choung, Avineon’s senior vice president of Federal Systems. “This contract win helps us expand our work in the federal sector and adds to our long list of successes in the field.”

The U.S. EPA leads the nation’s environmental science, research, education, assessment, and remediation efforts and works to develop and enforce regulations that implement environmental laws enacted by Congress. The agency also funds state-level research, services and projects, and furthers public education to develop an environmentally conscious and responsible public. The EPA is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and has 10 regional offices and more than a dozen research facilities across the U.S. Avineon will provide nationwide technical support to EPA on this contract.
