Miami-Dade County Commissioners Pass Resolution for GIS Application for Economic Development
Miami-Dade County Commissioners recently passed a resolution that proposed creating an online GIS application for economic business development purposes and to assist businesses in the site selection process.
Resolution R-358-08 was adopted at the April 8th, 2008 Board of County Commissioner's meeting based upon the proposal that "the local economy would benefit by the development of an on-line Geographic Information System that provides the information that businesses need when deciding whether to move to a community, including the exact size and location of established, associated, and competing businesses; their suppliers, support companies, and service industries; and transportation, economic, demographic, and social information, including specialized infrastructure."
