Fizber.com Strategy: Supersede Competition With Web 2.0 Technology

Launched in July 2007, for- sale-by-owner (FSBO) website Fizber.com is utilizing Web 2.0 technology to vie aggressively with its competition. Fizber.com Web 2.0 services include Fizber Video, integrated Google Maps, Bird's Eye View, City Profiles and Blogs.

Created in the late 1990's, most of Fizber.com's competitor websites are stuck in the Web 1.0 age. CEO Antony Fizber took note of this when creating Fizber.com. By taking advantage of 21st century technology, he hopes to create more efficient advertising tools for each owner, thereby increasing their chances to sell homes sooner.

For instance, Fizber created Fizber Video as a part of Fizber.com's home listing services. Sellers can make a simple video tour of their house and upload it directly to their home listing page. The tour can also be shown on YouTube.com for additional exposure.

Fizber.com uses integrated Google Maps so buyers can view the physical location of a house right from each home listing page. In addition, the buyer can switch from map to Bird's Eye View, another Web 2.0 service, to see a satellite image of the area. Even on forsalebyowner.com, the oldest and most advertised FSBO website on the Internet, the buyer is redirected out of the home listing to Google Maps to do this search.

To further increase exposure for sellers, Fizber.com includes blogging as part of their seller plans, another service that most of their competition doesn't even include. Blogs can be used to advertise an owner's FSBO listing, discuss unique features of a house and answer buyer questions directly.

Fizber doesn't take the rapid development of online technology lightly. "The development of online communication seems to evolve overnight and consumers are learning and using it immediately. It's simply smart business sense to use current technology; it also happens to make buying and selling a home a lot easier."

Though Fizber.com hasn't been around long enough to land on the first page of a Google search yet, Fizber is confident that within months Fizber.com will push its way to the top of the list.

Headquartered in Miami Beach, Fizber.com provides home listings throughout the United States. To learn more about Fizber.com, visit http://www.fizber.com/.
