You Are Here.... Where Am I?
Nagi Babu Punyamurthula has created "Where Am I", a mapping application to track other people and friends using their cell phone GPS capabilities. The incorporated tracking info includes details such as: Last Seen, Latitude, Longitude, Altitude, Speed, Sats LOS (c/v/s), Heading, and Distance From Home.
Once you locate a friend you can also view a number of surrounding POIs (Points of Interest) off of a dropdown list. The Microsoft Live Search mapping interface includes everything from outdoor activities and restaurants to ATMs and hospitals within the POI features.
I have a feeling it won't be long before someone in law enforcement creates a traffic mashup which combines an application similar to "Where Am I" and posted highway speed limit signs......an easy way to dispatch out the exact location of speeding cars.
