Yahoo Launches MapMixer
This is a little old as MapMixer was actually launched last month, however I just now got around to taking a look at it. A pretty cool free application for the average user who just wants to upload a map image with pan/ zoom functionality to share with others.
The images are overlaid over the Yahoo Maps application so you still have access to road names, satellite imagery, etc. Users can also adjust the "layer opacity" near the top right corner of the map to see what lies beneath..... ideal for uploading historical map images to compare to today's geographical layout of towns or cities.
