Maptech Updates ChartKit from Virgina to Florida

Each season nearly 1,500 boaters cruise the entire ICW. Maptech’s new ChartKit Region 6: Norfolk, VA to Florida (10th edition) includes 83 Notice-to-Mariner corrected chart pages and 63 new aerial photos. Notable new features include the updated Bridge Table and new, improved chart coverage for Morehead City.

The Bridge Table lists the 71 bridges a boater will encounter along the way. The complete listing shows the ICW Mile, bridge name, vertical clearance, type of bridge (swing, fixed, bascule), Lat. /Long and restriction notes, plus the monitored VHF channel.

Morehead City coverage is more detailed in this edition (19,000 chart scale instead of 40,000) and clearly shows the best ocean access for those wanting to bypass the dangers of the North Carolina inlets and Cape Hatteras.

Many boaters rely on chart plotters with small screens. With a ChartKit, it’s like having a 22" x 17" screen for a chart plotter—for only $130. Every page and every chart has been updated from the earlier editions. This new edition includes thousands of Notice to Mariner changes to the charts. Maptech ChartKits are easy to use and contain full-color charts with hundreds of GPS waypoints and pre-plotted courses, and offshore and inshore charts in the most useful scales for the area.
