South Florida Water Management District Hiring Senior GIS Data Steward in West Palm Beach, FL
The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is currently looking to hire a senior level GIS Data Steward for their West Palm Beach, FL headquarters.
Per the position description the tasks and requirements include the following:
"The Senior GIS Data Steward is formally responsible for the creation and maintenance of spatial data and metadata that will be broadly distributed and used through a centralized spatial data warehouse. The Senior GIS Data Steward is the authority for specific spatial data sets. Stewardship responsibilities may include hydrologic (Arc Hydro), land cover / land use, aerial photography, topographic, cadastre, and transportation data sets. Extensive working knowledge in ArcGIS and considerable experience designing and building spatial data sets is required. Successful experience managing large volumes of GIS data and experience developing and maintaining spatial metadata is required. This position reports to the GIS Data Manager and cooperates with other Senior GIS Data Steward positions to meet enterprise spatial data needs."
"The successful candidate will typically have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, GIS, Remote Sensing or related field and 6 - 8 years of related experience. A valid State of Florida driver's license is required."
