Find GIS Now Featured on Shapefile Connection
The Find GIS website has recently been added as a Florida GIS data resource on Shapefile Connection.
Per Shapefile Connection's "About" page:
"Shapefile Connection is a site designed to quickly link GIS users to GIS data that's available for download online. The majority of this data come from the government sector, but there are private and public organizations that create, maintain, and provide GIS data online, for free."
"Finding this data can be difficult and time consuming, especially if you're unsure where to begin looking. Few sites such as geocomm.com and geographynetwork.com offer lots of GIS data for download. Yet the task of finding data can be cumbersome and overwhelming to the GIS user with these huge data depository sites."
"Hopefully, this site can guide you to GIS data that you may not have discovered prior to visiting. And ultimately, perhaps this site will encourage and promote GIS data sharing amongst the growing number of GIS professionals and novices alike. Enjoy!"
