Gulf County, Florida Selects Geo-Visus Inc’s GISLite©™ Solution to Maximize Information Access
Geo-Visus Inc. announces Gulf County, Florida implements their Hosted Application Solution, GISLite©™ as its Web-GIS standard. GISLite©™ was selected because of its low cost of ownership; County maps are available via the web; users have anywhere, anytime access to selected GIS functionality and tools, thus extending GIS capabilities to the whole Enterprise.
“Through a special offer from Geo-Visus, the County was able to rolled-out the GISLite©™ solution to all County Departments and the Public,” states Scott Warner, GIS Director. “Using the GISLite©™ solution, we are able to extend GIS capabilities across the County via a Web-based interface and deploy up-to-date maps and data of our entire infrastructure.”
GISLite©™ is a Simple, Scalable ArcGIS Server Map Management and Deployment Tool. Built on ESRI’s ArcGIS Server technology, GISLite©™ allows clients to: Store and Access – GIS Maps and Data; Manage – Users, Tools and Map Access; Edit and Analyze GIS Data. It is implemented in one of three ways: As a Hosted Application (ASP); As a Hosted Server Solution; As an Installed Product.

Gulf County is bordered on the North by Calhoun County, on the West by Bay County, on the East by Franklin and Liberty Counties and on the South by the Gulf of Mexico. Gulf County averages 82 degrees in the summer and 54 degrees in the winter. Gulf County has a population density of approximately 24 persons per square mile.
